My name is Jing-ru 静如. I also like to go by my French name Julie (lucky for those who are shy to pronounce in Chinese). I was born and raised in Shenzhen, a young coastal mega-city in the Greater Bay Area in Southern China known for its tech and design momentum. I spent my most formative years between Beijing and the U.S. Those eight years shaped my profound curiosity in cross-cultural storytelling and art in all its forms. Since 2020, I’m taking roots in Europe, after I moved to Paris in the middle of the pandemic to master French and to study Art History at the Sorbonne.
I have conducted interviews with museum directors, gallerists, curators, artists, designers, and publishers for producing content in text and video formats. Some of the notable personalities I have interviewed include Muriel Mayette-Holtz (Director of Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild), Jacques Garcia (Interior Architect), Suzanne Tise Isore (Collection Styles and Design, Flammarion), Frédéric Bouilleux (Executive Vice-President of Domaine national de Chambord), Véronique Brumm (Director of Musée Lalique), Sixtine De Saint-Léger (Conservation - Documentation of Musée Cognacq-Jay), and Jean-Hubert Martin (Art Historian and Curator), among others.
I have given lectures and conducted studies on art history and the art market with global perspectives in three different languages. I offer private art tours at national and Parisian museums, art foundations, galleries, heritage sites, as well as during international art fairs. My strong academic background in art history allows me to provide my audience with a clear and critical understanding of the ever-evolving art scene. As a cross-cultural communicator, I always adapt the guiding experience to different art forms, historical periods, and geo-cultural contexts.
With over seven years of branding experience, I provide personalized and comprehensive services to creative individuals and cultural organizations. I help them focus on their core activities while helping with project and liaison management, content strategy, print and digital design, and more. I identify and adapt to imtmediate and long-term needs unique to each individual and accompany them with personalized strategies and services to unlock their creative energy and help them grow. As a visual communicator and designer, I have an eye for the elegant balance between content and visuals, which is an asset for cultural organizations and creative individuals.
